Who AM I?
My name is Rhiannon Todd and I'm a recent graduate from LCI Melbourne, completing my bachelors in Fashion and Costume Design. I am 23 years old originally started my design journey doing cosplay, but have decided to shift my focus into Couture and costume design. I aim to be a freelance designer and be able to bring people's visions to life. I love creating unique and slightly strange garments and challenge traditional couture designing.
Costume
Originally starting in Cosplay I have made many costumes based on characters from video games to anime.
Starting my couture journey in LCI Melbourne, I have since began creating one-of-a-kind high end garments.
Couture
I have been doing traditional illustrations for over a decade and specialise in watercolour.

Couture
While completing my bachelor of fashion I learnt about garment construction, pattern making, tailoring, corsetry and many other techniques. Over two years I practiced my technical skills from turning my initial ideas into drawings then into garments.
I found that I particularly gravitate towards bold
silhouettes and fabrics. My love for costume heavily
influences my designs and I like to push the boundaries of fashion (and gravity) in my work. My exploration led into my final grad collection 'ELYTRA', which was
showcased in Melbourne Fashion Week 2025 student runway.
ELYTRA
Elytra was born from the innate anxieties and pain of hiding your true colours. Using beetle motifs as an
allegory for the soft vulnerable sides underneath hard exteriors. The hard shells on beetles, called the elytra, provide protection and shield the delicate and fragile wings within.
Much like as people, we seal away our own fragilities and vulnerabilities from fear of judgement and pain. Elytra was made to encourage people to brave the uncertainties in life and embrace self acceptance and expression.

Illustration
From Technical Drawings, Fashion Illustration and original artwork I have been drawing since I was 12 years old. I've used many mediums such as watercolour, ink, graphite, acrylics and digital platforms (Adobe Suite). I also completed a sub
major in graphic design as apart of my course.
Costume
I originally began my design journey making cosplays for myself with the little sewing experience I gained in highshool and teaching myself. Mostly it was a time I was experimenting with fabric types, fabric manipulation, applique (embroidery, beading) and finding my own design style. I also experimented with makeup, wig styling and photography.
